My husband, Woody, and I currently live near Atlanta, Georgia (actually, about 45 minutes away) with our children, Noelani & Dylan. I'm a 30-something stay-at-home mom. It's the hardest job I've ever held, and although I wouldn't give it up for anything, I'm always grateful for time away from the kids.
I've been a fan of Journey since 1982, when I first heard "Don't Stop Believing", and I've been hooked ever since. I remember being teased my Freshman year in high school for having "Journey" and "Steve Perry" written all over my school books. On my "Departure" album sleeve I have the words "Steve Perry is so fine" written in blue paint pen next to his picture. I guess that tells you who my favorite band member was. Yes, I was a little disappointed when I heard Perry left the band, but have been pleasantly surprised by the work of Steve Augeri and now consider "Arrival" one of my favorite CD's.
I'm generally a big classic rock fan . . .Journey, Styx, Night Ranger, Loverboy, Triumph, Damn Yankees, Boston, REO Speedwagon . . . you get the idea. Then there's the current Melodic Rock scene: Vaughn, Final Frontier, Ten, Unruly Child, Allen-Lande... I also love country music -- Trisha Yearwood, Restless Heart, Diamond Rio, Martina McBride, Collin Raye, Jo Dee Messina . . . but my music tastes don't stop there! I'm also into Jazz, Classical, Blues . . . matter of fact, I think the only music I generally don't like is rap, although I'll occasionally listen to some of those artists, too.
Music is such a huge part of me, and I seem to be passing that along to my children. My husband laughs whenever he gets into my truck after I have been in it -- radio is cranked and there's usually a Journey, REO or Night Ranger CD in the player -- although these days, I'm listening to more and more European melodic rock releases.
As you can tell, I also like to ramble, so I guess I'll shut up now. *wink*
